Well, we have a real live mystery that the scientific community is turning to the public to solve. The FBI has done it before to break a code and now the Royal Society of Chemists are following suit. They want to figure out why water freezes faster when it is hot instead of being cold. The person that figures it out will get $1600 for their efforts. Personally, I think that is a little cheap for solving a mystery that stretches back over a thousand years and has stumped the most brilliant minds ever to walk the Earth.
They are looking for presentations, papers or films explaining your reasoning as to the reason for this phenomenon. I figured with some of the knowledgeable scientific minds that I've run across here... this would be perfect! Good Luck!
